HerStory: Diana K portrays herself as a feminist... because she finds that it helps her pick up men! She believes that wherever there is poverty, war or natural disasters, women and children are the most vulnerable – and that the root of this vulnerability lies in the systemic oppression that we, as women, face...living in a male-dominated world. There are one-million-and-one ways that women are forced into subjugation...and one-million-and-two ways that we fight back. For the past 3 years, Diana K has worked on a number of initiatives and programs that provide support for women who have been affected by violence. Whether providing assistance via a sexual assault support-line, working with women through Violence Against Women counseling, or participating in rallies to make it known that our streets are not safe when they ought to be...the women that Diana K meets through these channels always exemplify new expressions of strength. In March 2005, Diana K had the opportunity to participate in the annual production of the Vagina Monologues (originally created by Eve Ensler) – the proceeds of which were donated to Juliette's Place, a shelter for survivors of abuse.
