Morning Duties Sleep has left my eyes but the dawn has not arrived The moon has said its good bye but the dew lingers behind Animals wake up in the cold and silent night The wild wind bellows amongst the trees And time we hear passing with the faint smell of ashes Wake up to the drizzling of the rain Sweep with the crackling of fire wood To the sound of bleating goats cassava leaves are to be fed In the wake of dawn, a basket is set for the farm up the hill. |
